The nasal spray can be given to non-pregnant healthy individuals without chronic medical conditions from the ages of 2 years through 49 years. Most healthcare workers should fit in these parameters and start receiving the vaccine. Dr. Schuchat stated that no corners were cut in production of the H1N1 vaccines and that extra clinical trials were conducted to assure safety. This amount of initial vaccine is small, but more will be available soon.
